CAFFAN Participates in the National Agricultural Policy Dialogue 2026

 

The Catfish and Allied Fish Farmers Association of Nigeria (CAFFAN) participated in the 2026 National Agricultural Policy Dialogue, joining government agencies, private sector stakeholders, researchers, and development partners to discuss strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s agricultural sector.

Representing the interests of fish farmers across the country, the CAFFAN delegation highlighted the critical role aquaculture plays in ensuring food security, creating employment, and driving economic diversification. Discussions focused on improving access to finance, strengthening value chains, encouraging local feed production, and implementing policies that support sustainable aquaculture.

Speaking during the event, CAFFAN reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with policymakers and industry stakeholders to create an enabling environment for fish farmers and allied businesses.

The association remains dedicated to advocating for policies that promote increased fish production, improve farmers’ livelihoods, and position Nigeria as a leading aquaculture producer in Africa.
